Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly around the verge of sacking coach Robin Dutt after their 2-0 loss to Schalke on Saturday.
The encounter at Gelsenkirchen presented Dutt's team with a opportunity to keep their probability of qualifying to the Champions League alive.
But with his side now 11 points behind fourth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach within the Bundesliga, Express reports Dutt will probably be released from his contract at season's end.
While chief executive Wolfgang Holzhauser and sporting director Rudi Voller are unwilling to criticise Dutt, reports emerged earlier this coming year the players were unsettled.
Leverkusen have reportedly lined up ex-Schalke boss Ralf Rangnick to take over as head coach for next season.
However, the report also said if Leverkusen lose to Freiburg on Saturday, Dutt are going to be replaced immediately.
